Radiation Therapy : Diamond Detector

The Diamond Detector is designed to measure relative dose distributions in high energy photon and electron beams. The detector is based on a natural diamond crystal. It features a small sensitive volume, in the order of only a few cubic millimeters, which allows the measurement of dose distributions with excellent spatial resolution. Low energy and temperature dependence, high sensitivity and resistance to radiation damage, and nearly no directional dependence are other important features of the Diamond Detector. The Diamond Detector is waterproof and has a short rigid stem for easy positioning in a water phantom.
