E-600/SHP-400A Ion Chamber Survey Meter Features

Introduction
This unique instrument combines a powerful industry standard digital meter with an ionization chamber to provide digitally accurate exposure measurements. This powerful combination facilitates data-logging, integrating the measurement over a user-specified time interval and outputs a "click rate" simulating the level of dose viewed by the instrument for audio feedback to the operator. SHP-400A Ion Chamber Detector This detector is similar to Thermo's popular Model RO-20 ion chamber, with an overall detection range starting from 1 mR/hr to 2.5 R/hr. A swinging beta shield permits rapid opening and closing to perform both an open window and closed window measurement.

The ion chamber is coupled to a frequency-to-pulse converter that is built into the detector which is then retrieved by the E-600 survey meter. All power for the detector is supplied by the E-600. As with other "Smart" detectors, the SHP-400A carries all calibration/operational information within the detector and automatically conveys all parameters to the accompanying E-600 upon startup.

This detector also comes equipped with a short cable for connection to the E-600 so no additional cabling is required when ordering the SHP-400A.
